Wedding vows are the centerpiece of the sacred tradition of marriage and something that every bride and groom fret over. The Wedding Vows iPhone application offers a never-ending source of inspiration to help brides and grooms to find the words to describe how they feel during their special moment.

With this redesign, the Wedding Vows iPhone application offers a repository of inspirational vows where people can find, rate, create and share the inspirational texts that lead to lifelong memories.

This project is a collaboration with Rebeca Sá leading the visual design while my focus was the Interaction Design.

Vows fit into a larger picture that is the wedding ceremony. Users need to be able to access, share and utilize the content provided by this app in other ways. Ultimately, what is being sold to the end-user is the content on the screen. Maximizing the usability of the application will allow end-users to find more content faster and provide a more positive experience overall.
As many screens of the application have similar functions, we needed to create a way to visually differentiate between them. To do this, we created our Moveable Canvas concept. Starting with one continuous background image, we show only a piece on any one screen.

When the user navigates from one page to another, the backgrond image slides left, right, up and down as necessary. The effect of this makes it appear as if each transition is really the user traveling from one location to another, creating our visual differentiation.
Through wireframes, we translated the application vision into a more tangible real world context in which people may utilize the technology.

Application functionality includes some standard functions such as Search, Browse, and Writing a Wedding Vow. We also created brand new interactions for features that include finding inspiration, rating a vow and wharing with Facebook integration.
With our final design we were able to successfully meet the needs of our end user by providing intuitive interactions and a pleasing visual design.
